The reinforced version of the gears is fully interchangeable with standard gears and is used in all tracked vehicles built on the basis of the T-72 chassis.

Side Gear:
The side gear is a single-stage planetary reducer with a constant reduction ratio.
It reduces the output speed of the gearbox and increases the torque accordingly.
The side gear is connected to the gearbox to form one unit weighing over 700 kg.

Shock absorbers are used for vibration damping, absorption of shocks and impacts arising when the tank negotiates terrain unevenness. The shock absorbers are of the lever-paddle type. The vehicle is fitted with 6 shock absorbers, 3 on each side, at the 1st, 2nd and 6th road wheels, which are connected to the road-wheel rockers. Shock absorbers are filled with oil, which is not refilled during operation. The friction of the oil when squeezing through the valve openings creates a drag force that dampens the vibrations of the vehicle hull.
